Proximity vs. Celebrity
My friend said he’d sneak out of a conference so we could meet at a nearby coffee shop. I arrived on time but he’d already finished his tea and was hard at work at his computer. The high priced celebrity speaker only kept his interest for a few minutes and he opted out to get some work done.
We chatted about celebrity speakers who can jazz us with content but their real impact on corporate or business life can be limited. There is so much knowledge, wisdom and experience residing in those we know and trust – you just can’t draw a crowd with it. More >
