Reality at Christmas

It only took eleven minutes Saturday morning for me to read the Christmas stories aloud (Matthew 1:18 – 2:23; Luke 1:26-56, 2:1-40). Yes it’s full of light and music, hope and peace but it is also filled with the stark reality of life then, and now. As I write this I am staring at a computer screen. I have read the paper online, looked at emails – lots of images coming at me. Our friend Mary, at breakfast the other day observed that we are seeing images that are lit from behind. Nature is different- we see each other or a work of art through reflected light. More >
