And it’s not about money! The Magi story reached me in a particular way this Christmas season. We are current day Magi following whatever light we have that leads us toward Jesus.

We connect our friendship in Christ with our awareness of God in all of life. In the midst of our abundance, it is about finding what we really treasure and offering it for the good of the kingdom of God.

What I treasure most I also protect the most- my treasure chest can bea place of fear and insecurity. What I fear most to lose helps me identify what I treasure. It may be influence, reputation, position, power, family or friends. Let’s open our treasure chests and offer what we find there for the good of all.

A Prayer for Today

Loving God, It’s a new year and I feel optimistic but also exposed to the unknown. Give me courage to live generously with all you’ve given me. Free me from self-protection and being closed to the needs and wounds of others.  For Jesus’ sake….
