Reminders of God

Scripture
So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God—all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God. (Romans 5:11 NLT)
Reminders of God
Saturday morning, I was greeted by the warmth and glory of the sun. My natural response was to turn, face the sun, eyes closed, face uplifted, to passively receive the renewing power and warmth of the early morning sunshine.
We’ve all been part of sun worship groups on the beach - all facing the same direction doing nothing but “catching some rays”.
Some days it is good to stop, relax, close our eyes, face uplifted, and passively receive the renewing warmth and light of God. The sun reflects God’s creativity and love – it shines on us all without favouritism.
Jesus said “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:17)
Condemnation produces exclusion – God embraces us in Jesus drawing us to his love and friendship- nothing for us to do but “catch the rays”.
A Prayer
O true Light of the world, I pause in the middle of my demands to be quiet, and turn my whole being in your direction to be renewed by your love. Because of your embrace I do not condemn myself or remain in the prison of the condemnation of others. Your light and love has freed me to love you and those with whom I work this day...… For Jesus’ sake
