A Note from Our Chair

Dear friends

I’ve had the privilege of chairing Touchstone’s board for several years and being part of our happy decision to celebrate Touchstone’s 40th birthday in June along with Norm’s retirement from the ministry. We have a terrific event planned on June 9th, 2024 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. to which you all are invited.

Our plan is for Touchstone to continue to operate as usual to June 30th with Norm writing, leading retreats, and meeting with friends.

Over the last few months Norm has been working/writing/producing a new Blog/Podcast called “Pop the Corks and Pass the Butter Tarts”. This is a 8-piece series that will also be produced in eBook and print versions. The Podcast/Book is Norm’s refection on his 40 years of ministry as he moves into retirement. We've just published our first episode on February 7.2024.

In the months after June 30th we will take the necessary steps with legal and accounting help to dissolve the corporation and give up our charitable status with Revenue Canada. We will stop receiving donations for charitable receipt on June 30. 2024 and will advise any who are monthly donors of this in order to stop automatic withdrawals by that date.

Our financial supporters have been very faithful and generous for these 40 years. As at the date of this letter and on the assumption that our donors will continue to support us faithfully until we close out, we believe that cash flow will support the ministry until June 30th and past June 30th as we incur closing costs.

Norm with Susan’s input made the decision several months ago that June 30, 2024 – 40 years, was a good time to conclude Touchstone Ministries. In addition, Norm consulted with his board of which I am the chair and after discussions back and forth the date was agreed upon.

It has been a wonderful and fruitful 40 years. My own association has been these past 20 years. While it’s sad to say goodbye, God has plans for time and place and we can be thankful for these 40 years.

So please continue to support us as we engage in this close up/retirement process.
Thank you for your generous history with us and I trust you will come to our celebratory event in June.   My email address is  scott@cameronstephens.com.
