May the Lord bless you ….

Scripture
‘May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’ (Numbers 6:24-26 NLT)
May the Lord bless you ….
I like that blessing better than Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. As we celebrate Christmas and approach 2020 it is good to know that the gifts of the season are an expression of God’s smile.
We say farewell to 2019 and welcome the presence of Jesus – past, present and future - over this next 10 days or so. I look back on many rich experiences of the presence of light, grace, mercy and hope in the -painful and sorrowful, joyful and enriching experiences in our circles of family and friends.
I pray that we will all experience God’s richest blessings, mercies, forgiveness and hope. Whether our lives have been graced with sorrow or joy, pain or comfort, we have the opportunity to learn, grow and serve one another.
The Lord willing and the creek don’t rise I will return with theses missives on January 6th. May the grand old blessing in today’s scripture quote be your experience.
A Prayer for Today
Light up our darkness, Jesus, proclaimed by angels. Light up our darkness, Jesus worshipped by shepherds. Light up our darkness, Jesus adored by wise men. Light up our darkness, Jesus, God who is with us now. Light up our darkness. (Ray Simpson, Celtic Prayers for Life Today)
